Streakin Six
By Tanya Randall

Leading sire and champion runner, Streakin Six, was euthanized due to
complications of old age on December 14, 2005, at the 666 Ranch in Guthrie,
Texas. He was 28.
Streakin Six, a 1977 chestnut son of Easy Six out of Miss Assured by Little
Request (TB), was bred by Tom L. Burnett Cattle Company.
As a racehorse, the stallion ran out $473,937 from 10 wins, five seconds,
and one third in 19 starts. The late B.F. Phillips, Jr., bought Streakin Six
in 1979 after the stallion finished second to Pie In The Sky in the
All-American Futurity. Phillips syndicated him in 1988.
Streakin Six stood his last years at stud at the 6666's before earning his
pension in 2000.
As a sire of barrel horses, Streakin Six sired two Wrangler National Finals
Rodeo (WNFR) qualifiers: Charmayne James' 2002 Women's Professional Rodeo
Association (WPRA) World Champion Cruisin On Six and Brittany Pozzi's Sixth
Vision. These two geldings alone have collected nearly $1 million in WPRA
earnings.
At the 2005 WNFR, the blood of Streakin Six was flowing through the veins of
three horses--Pozzi's Sixth Vision, Linda Vick's Running Episode, by the
Streakin Six son Sixarun, and Sherry Cervi's BC Tinman, out of the Streakin
Six daughter Coxes Major Streak.
According to Equi-Stat, the statistical division of Cowboy Publishing Group,
Streakin Six sired earners of $171,993. (Equi-Stat records do not include
rodeo earnings.) His leading get were Sherry Cannon's Picture Me Streakin
($53,098) and James Malcolm Harris III's Celebrated Streak ($38,447).
Streakin Six made his largest impact in the barrel horse industry as a sire
of sires. His leading son was Packin Sixes, which sired earners of more than
$921,850, including the leading money-earning futurity horse of all time,
Sissys Little Coin, owned by Mike and Janelle Green's Southern Rose Ranch,
with earnings of $242,259.
Other sons of Streakin Six at the top of the leading sires' charts are
Sixarun with barrel horse earnings of $218,048; Sir Alibi, $147,670; Streak
Liaco Bird, $132,076; Six Fortunes, $126,644; and Streakin Dash, $113,151.
Streakin Six daughters produced barrel horses earning $336,982. His leading
maternal grandget is Julie Keane's gelding A Lotta Dollar, by Bully Bullion
out of Play Pretty Streak, with $80,217.
On the racetrack, get of Streakin Six earned $17.1 million. He sired 596
winners, of which 73 were graded stakes race winners.
His top runners include Champion Two-Year-Old Filly Sixy Chick, $751,284;
Champion Two-Year-Old Colt Six Fortunes, $574,788; Champion Aged Stallion
Sir Alibi, $356,193; Champion Distance Horse Sterling Sport, $266,223;
